Platform character limits and formatting

Each social platform has its own rules for post length, hashtags, and media. CHARACTER LIMITS - X (Twitter): 280 characters including links (links count as 23 chars regardless of length) - LinkedIn: 3,000 characters; only the first ~210 are shown before "see more" - Instagram: 2,200 characters in caption; hashtags work best in the first comment - Threads: 500 characters - TikTok: 2,200 characters in description - Bluesky: 300 characters - Mastodon: 500 characters (varies by instance) - Facebook: 63,206 characters (practically unlimited) HASHTAG RULES - X/LinkedIn/Threads: 3–5 hashtags inline - Instagram: 20–30 hashtags in the first comment (not the caption) for maximum reach - TikTok: 3–5 hashtags in the description LINKS - X: All links are shortened to t.co (23 chars) automatically - LinkedIn: Links in posts suppress native previews; put the link in the first comment for better reach - Instagram: Links in captions are not clickable; use the bio link or link sticker in Stories EchoForge applies all of these rules automatically when generating variants.
